Miracle on Nandesari Bridge: 20-Year-Old Survives After Hanging Mid-Air in Vadodara Accident

A 20-year-old moped rider narrowly escaped death after being hit by an unidentified vehicle on Vadodara’s Nandesari Bridge. Thrown over the bridge edge, he survived when his shirt caught on an electric pole, allowing bystanders and police to rescue him in time.

Vadodara, Gujarat — A routine journey nearly turned fatal in Vadodara when a 20-year-old man survived a horrifying road accident on the Nandesari Bridge, escaping death by what witnesses and officials described as sheer fortune and swift human response.

The incident occurred when Siddhraj Singh Mahida was riding his moped across the bridge and was suddenly struck by an unidentified vehicle. The impact threw him violently toward the edge of the bridge, sending him over the side. In a moment that stunned onlookers, Mahida did not plunge to the ground below. Instead, his shirt became caught on an electric pole fixed to the bridge structure, leaving him suspended in mid-air at an estimated height of nearly 20 feet.

As the young man hung precariously, struggling to maintain his grip, passersby quickly rushed toward him. Several people held onto him to prevent a fall, while others alerted the authorities. The coordinated effort of civilians and police ensured that Mahida was pulled back to safety within minutes, averting what could have been a tragic loss of life.

Police officials confirmed that the vehicle involved in the collision fled the scene and efforts are ongoing to identify it. They praised the presence of mind and courage shown by local residents, noting that their immediate action played a decisive role in saving the young man’s life.
